A great find!

I went to Pangea when I was visiting family for the holidays. This place belongs in nyc! Its an amazing find in the poconos. Its a trendy restaurant with a lot of great variety on the menu. It has a lot of indian dishes but there are so many choices for other types of food as well. I was surprised. The food was a wonderful blend of spices. Not too spicy, simply flavorful! Its close to the crossings shopping center, a great place to stop by after you've shopped for a wonderful meal to end the day. The waitstaff was super friendly. I will definetely spread the word to my friends and family to go to Pangea!

This restaurant is a must if you like Indian food. The food is authentic and service were outstanding! I would love to go back whenever I can. They have an extensive indian menu, but they also carry other types of foods as well, like italian and american. The decor was beautiful. Its a great place for all occasions!

A unique dining experience in the Poconos

We happened to be dining in Pangea this weekend and I have to say the food was amazingly flawless. The appetizers - crispy crunchy-sweet onion pakoras and the gently-spiced fresh samosas were so tasty that I could have made a meal out of them alone! I am a vegetarian, so the menu was abundant with choices (not a usual occurrence in most eating places!). After a lot of thought, I ordered a spring dosa and my companions ordered the paneer-stuffed dosa, and the chole puri, all promising to share so that everyone could have a taste. Our dishes arrived piping hot and savory and we began eating. I enjoyed the generous filling of potato, cabbage, cauliflowers, each mouthful full of the taste of fresh vegetables mingled with spices and before I knew it there was nothing left on my plate! Needless to say, the others had polished off theirs too. Admittedly, we were all ravenous but there was no doubt that when delicious food appears before one it can vanish before you say abracadabra. I skipped the dessert (too full) but had a couple of forkfuls of the raspberry cheesecake from the plate of one of my companions - it was rich, dense with flavor but not overpoweringly sweet (one of my pet peeves about cheesecake) and I regretted stuffing on the dosa. The service was very good, friendly and ready to answer all questions, inspite of their obviously busy schedule. I liked the decor too - understated elegance - and the music was clearly popular, judging by the amount of people on the dance floor. All in all, a classic meal in a classic setting and singularly different from the usual dining spots in the Poconos which tend to lean heavily towards meat and starch. I left promising myself that I would definitely be back.

Greatest Varity of Food in PA

I am visiting from California and have been round the world and eaten many types of restaurants. My experience at Pangea will be cherished for years to come. I enjoyed the wide variety of Indo-Chinese, Indian, Italian, and American dishes. I visited the restaurant on two occasions. The staff is very friendly and the owner has a nice sense of humor which makes you feel at ease. The atmosphere is cool and soothing. In short, Pangea has everything to great time.I will make it a point to visit the restaurant on my next visit to the Pocanose.

Best example of fusion food-- at moderate prices!

First of all, Pangea is UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP and the new owners are great! I have been to Pangea for lunch and dinner and the menu is outstanding! It is so hard to choose from all the great choices. Also, if you go with your vegetarian sister, your meat-loving dad, or the picky eater in your family, there is sure to be something that appeals to everyone. With so many choices and categories on the menu, the longest part of your meal will be choosing what to order!! The service was friendly and quick, even though I went during the holiday season, and the new owners have really made the place a success. If you're in town for a business meeting, the lunch menu is very reasonably priced, with an exotic selection of sandwich and wrap platters. Great for a romantic dinner too, with a lovely, serene mood, and awesome cocktails. Hope you try this new place and like it as much as I did!
